Safety footwear designed to protect against special risks is defined by additional ratings – SB, S1, S1P, S2, S3, S4, S5. Unlike occupational footwear, safety footwear has toecaps. Toecaps are made of various materials – steel, composite, aluminum, carbon fiber, glass fiber. All toecaps meeting this standard have passed tests of resistance to a 200 joule impact and compression resistance tests when exposed to a compression load of more than 1,500 kg.
